Film Composer. Musician. Collaborator.
Tyler Belluz is musician and composer who is hard to define influentially. Having honed his skills within the orchestral scene, he began his classical career at Indiana University. During his university education he was fortunate enough to win a placement with the New York String Orchestra Seminar that performed two sold-out shows at Carnegie Hall. Upon graduating at one of the top schools in the world he begin his orchestral career performing with Calgary Philharmonic, National Ballet Orchestra of Canada, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Thunder Bay Symphony. He additionally performed heavily with nationally accredited feeder orchestras such as the National Academy Orchestra, Orchestra de la Francaphonie, along with the Orchestra of the Americas; that subsequently resided and toured Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Tyler additionally taught in Bahia, Brazil for the Neojiba; the local Sistema.

After a career ending physical injury, Tyler further pursued music by way of composition. Studying composition at university, he was able to attributed many genres to concoct a unique type of sound that connected with fellow musicians, and soon critics. Having since released over a dozen albums with many projects, his composing began garnering accolades such as the national Canadian awards Polaris Prize (Bry Webb) and the SOCAN Songwriting Prize (Del Bel).

These and many projects were critically heralded by the likes of the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Vancouver Sun, Exclaim Magazine, while heavily in rotation on CBC Radio, along with personal interviews on a multitude of CBC podcast/ shows/ articles.

Tyler began collaborating with leading gypsy guitarist Adrian Raso, recording and performing with Adrian along with the world renown Fanfare Ciocarlia across Europe and Canada on a handful of tours. One memorable tour had the band headline the Montreal Jazz Festival in front of 32 000 fans with back to back shows filmed. Adrian and Tyler later released an album with famed drummer Michael Bland of Prince's New Power Generation era, released on German based label Asphalt Tango Records.

During this transition from an orchestral player to band musician/ composer, Tyler started to compose works for full length films, short films, and documentaries. His work as a multi-instrumentalist can be heard at film festivals such as TIFF, along with a track licensed on Prime Time USA TV, TUBI and Netflix.

To date, Tyler is currently working on scoring a 6 part Canadian television series for the TLN network, and currently has a handful of short films on the festival circuit, including the Academy Award qualifying Cinequest FF.

Tyler is proudly endorsed by Canadian made microphone specialists Advanced Audio Microphones. He has used the CM47 on albums, short films and the upcoming television show Emerge. Primary uses have been on the double bass which has been key in achieving high quality recordings.
